BELIEVE ACTIVITIES 11 30 12 00

GOAL: For kids to discover who God is by engaging with the Bible

Element abstract retro style 80s-90s geometric shapes

Welcome the kids to your group and gather them in a circle.

  • Lead kids to find Romans 6:23a in their Bible. Read the verse aloud together.

  • Discuss: Read Romans 6:23a.

  • Discuss:
    • What is the price for our sin?
    • Is there anything we can do to pay this price on our own? Why not?
    • How did God pay the price for our sin?
    • What does this verse teach us about sin?

MEMORY VERSE GAME: Romans 6:23a

  • Spread the index cards with the verse words on a table or on the floor, in the correct order but mixed up.
  • Divide the kids into small groups (3-5 kids per group).
  • One child from each group will be blindfolded and must arrange the words in the correct order with the verbal guidance of their group members.

SAY:

  • Romans 6:23a says, "When you sin, the pay you get is death." It’s important to understand this verse because it tells us that sin has a consequence. Sin isn’t just something small or unimportant—it has serious consequences. And the consequence of sin according to this verse is death.

  • We talked about different sins today, like lying. When we sin, it leads to death. It’s important to remember that sin has serious consequences. But understanding the consequence of sin helps us appreciate something very special—Jesus. Jesus died for our sins so that we don’t have to face death. Because of Jesus, we can have eternal life instead of death. Isn’t that amazing?

  • So, hen we remember this verse, it helps us understand how serious sin is, but it also helps us remember how much God loves us and what Jesus did for us. If you have any questions about today’s lesson, feel free to ask. Let’s close in prayer.
